Who is this guy?

What’s up! My name is Rich Belgie Jr. I ran sound for the first time at my old church when I was around 11 years old, long time ago, ha ha. At this point I’ve been running audio, lights, and video in ministry for over 20 years.

Along the way I’ve been fortunate enough to get involved at Calvary Chapel Fort Lauderdale. I started volunteering in 1995 wherever they would let me get my hands on some gear and learn. After getting out of high school things were growing at Calvary and an opportunity opened up for me to come on staff part time in 1998 then full time in 1999.

Calvary has been a great experience for me. I’ve gotten to grow in my skills as the ministry has grown. I get to do a wide variety of stuff from running sound to creating special effects for theatre productions to designing AV systems. I never thought my job would grow into what it has become.

Currently we have 5 full-time and 2 part time sound guys covering many campuses and venues. At last count we have over 3,000 events a year (no really, 3,000) ranging from church services to concerts and classes. This is a busy place!

I always love to help people from other ministries. My main goal with this site is to be able to help other ministries reach people for Jesus through technology. The pastor has to be heard and the music reinforced in a way that draws people into worship and teaching in a distraction free way.

We are all called to use our gifts and talents to the best of our ability. Ultimately, big church or small church, we’re all on the same team and we can all share insights and learn from each other.

I don’t know everything but hopefully you’ll find something useful on this site that will help your ministry. If there’s something you want to learn about that’s not mentioned here let me know and maybe I can help. At the very least I can point you to someone who does know.

Thanks for checking out the site!
